Jinu

Use Jinu from your AI assistant

Jinu's connector lets an AI assistant search live Jinu listings for you, check a seller's public reviews, and start a listing that you finish and post yourself. It needs no account and never sees inside yours.

Assistant access is on right now.

Connect

Add Jinu to your assistant with one of these addresses. None of them needs a key or a sign-in.

  • MCP serverhttps://www.jinu.app/api/mcpStreamable HTTP. For Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, Gemini and any assistant that takes an MCP server address.
  • OpenAPI documenthttps://www.jinu.app/agents/openapi.jsonFor Muse and any assistant that reads an OpenAPI description. The endpoints it describes live under https://www.jinu.app/api/agent/v1.
  • For assistants that read the websitehttps://www.jinu.app/llms.txtWhat Jinu is and how its public pages and search links work, for assistants that read web pages instead of using the connector.

This is the first version of the connector. Its tools and limits may change, and the OpenAPI document always describes the current ones.

What your assistant can do

  • jinu_list_marketsSee the towns it can search near by name, and roughly how many listings each area has.
  • jinu_list_categoriesList Jinu's categories and what posting in each one costs.
  • jinu_search_listingsSearch listings by what you want, a town, category, price and condition. Each result shows the price, the town, a photo, an approximate distance from the town you named, and the seller's rating and review count.
  • jinu_get_listingRead one listing in full, including the checks Jinu runs on it, such as a price in the description that differs from the listed price.
  • jinu_get_sellerCheck a seller's public trust signals: the Trusted Seller badge, rating, review count, recent reviews, active listings, and the year they joined if they allow it.
  • jinu_start_listingTurn what you told your assistant into a private link that opens Jinu's posting form already filled in. You check it, add photos and post it yourself, signed in to Jinu. The link works once and expires after 24 hours.

It cannot message anyone, make an offer, pay, post, sign in, or read or change anything in your account.

Add Jinu to your assistant

Menu names change between versions. If a step does not match what you see, look for the place to add a custom connector or an MCP server.

  1. Muse

Add a custom connector and give it the OpenAPI document address below, or the MCP server address if Muse offers that option. Leave the credentials empty.

    https://www.jinu.app/agents/openapi.json

We recommend setting the Jinu connector to Always ask in Muse, so Muse checks with you before each use.

  2. Claude

Open Settings, then Connectors, add a custom connector and paste the MCP server address. Leave the authentication settings empty.

    https://www.jinu.app/api/mcp
  3. ChatGPT

Turn on developer mode in the advanced settings for apps and connectors, then create a connector with the MCP server address and no authentication.

    https://www.jinu.app/api/mcp
  4. Grok

On grok.com, open Connectors and add a custom connector with the MCP server address. Custom connectors need a paid Grok plan.

    https://www.jinu.app/api/mcp
  5. Gemini

Where your Gemini account can add a custom MCP app, add one with the MCP server address. This is only available on some plans and in some countries.

Link your Jinu account

Once linked, an assistant can work for you on Jinu: search listings, see your own listings and start a listing that you finish in Jinu. Anything that reaches another person or goes public waits until you confirm it in Jinu, and you can revoke a link at any time.

With saved items on, it can save listings and searches for you, and tell you what is new in a saved search.

With drafts on, it can start a listing as a private draft that only you see, and ask you for photos.

With suggestions on, it can suggest a title, a category and details from a photo you uploaded.

With prepared actions on, it can prepare a change to your listings for you to confirm in Jinu.

A reviewed assistant that Jinu has enabled can publish your free drafts for you, but only if you allowed it when you connected, and only after you approve each one in the assistant. You can turn it off in Connected agents and take any listing down in Jinu.

When you link an assistant, Jinu shows you exactly what it may do, and you can choose Read only. You can pause or remove it at any time in Connected agents.

Anything that publishes, changes a live listing or reaches another person is only prepared by the assistant. You confirm it yourself in Jinu, where every check runs as if you did it by hand.

We recommend setting Jinu to Always ask in any assistant that offers it, so you approve each action before the assistant takes it.

Why confirm in Jinu: a standing approval inside an assistant would let it publish or contact people without you looking. Confirming in Jinu keeps that decision with you.

Real listings, with samples clearly marked

Results are listings posted by Jinu members, plus, while real listings grow, samples Jinu posted to show how the marketplace works. Every sample is marked as one, and your assistant is told to say so and never to present it as available to buy. Test listings are either left out or marked as samples, never shown as a member's. When Jinu cannot verify a listing at that moment, it leaves the listing out and tells your assistant the results may be incomplete, rather than guess.

Jinu works across the United States. Your assistant can search all of it, or near any of these towns by name. Jinu is new, so some places have few listings yet, and your assistant is told so.

  • Hilo, HI
  • Kailua-Kona, HI
  • Kamuela, HI
  • Atlanta, GA

Your assistant is never shown paid placements: results are ranked by relevance or the sort you choose, never by payment.

The data it uses

What it returns

  • A listing's title, price, town, category details, condition, posting date and availability, up to 8 photos and a link to it
  • The listing's title and description, with email addresses, phone numbers and links masked
  • An approximate straight-line distance band from a town you name, never an exact location. Road distance can be much longer.
  • A seller's display name, Trusted Seller badge, rating, review count, recent reviews and number of active listings, and the year they joined if they allow it

What it never returns

  • Email addresses, phone numbers, street addresses or map coordinates
  • Messages, offers, saved items or anything else from a member's account, including yours
  • Scam or risk scores, reports, moderation decisions, or whether a seller's phone number is verified
  • Who has viewed a listing, or anything about who is using the assistant

Listing text, seller names and reviews are written by members, and your assistant is told to treat them as information, never as instructions. Jinu never asks an assistant for codes, passwords, addresses or payment details.

Limits

  • Up to 20 results a page, and up to 50 pages for one search.
  • Without a client key, one internet address can make 300 requests a minute, 60 new searches an hour and 10 posting links an hour.
  • Answers are cached briefly, so a change to a listing can take a few minutes to show.
  • On the REST endpoints, a request over a limit gets 429 and one that arrives while the whole service is busy gets 503, both with a Retry-After header, and a parameter Jinu does not recognize gets 400. Over MCP, the same refusals come back as a tool error the assistant can read, and a limit or a busy service still carries the Retry-After header.
  • Assistant access can be paused at any time. While it is, the MCP server, the OpenAPI document and the REST endpoints answer 503 with a Retry-After header, and the website keeps working.
  • If you build an assistant and need higher limits, ask for a client key at hello@jinu.app. It is sent as a bearer token.
