Prohibited and restricted items

This policy applies to every listing, photograph, description, message, offer, review, and profile on the Jinu website and mobile applications. It applies to what you offer and to how you describe it: a permitted item described in a prohibited way is still a violation.

Jinu is a neutral venue and is not a party to any transaction between users. The absence of an item from the lists below does not mean the item is permitted, and it does not relieve you of your obligation to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local law, including any licensing, registration, disclosure, labeling, age-verification, or recall requirement that applies to what you offer. If you are unsure whether something may be listed, do not list it, and write to safety@jinu.app first.

Jinu may remove any listing, hold any listing for human review, and limit, suspend, or terminate any account that violates this policy, as described in Reporting and moderation.

The following categories are prohibited. They may not be listed, offered, solicited, advertised, linked to, or arranged through Jinu, whether for sale, for rent, for hire, for trade, or free of charge. This list is not exhaustive.

Illegal goods and unlawful activity

• Anything that is illegal to possess, sell, transfer, or advertise where either party is located, and anything offered in order to facilitate an unlawful transaction.
• Stolen property, including goods you know or reasonably should know were stolen, and goods with a removed, altered, or defaced serial number.
• Services that are themselves unlawful, and any offer to perform, procure, or arrange an unlawful act.

Weapons, ammunition, and explosives

• Firearms of any kind, including antique, black-powder, non-functioning, and 3D-printed firearms, and firearm frames, receivers, and completion kits.
• Ammunition, magazines, and reloading components.
• Explosives, fireworks, blasting agents, and their precursors.
• Regulated weapon accessories, including silencers and suppressors, bump stocks, and conversion or auto-sear devices.
• Other regulated weapons where restricted by law, including switchblades and ballistic knives, brass knuckles, stun guns and conducted-energy devices, and chemical-irritant sprays.

Drugs, alcohol, tobacco, and controlled substances

• Illegal drugs and controlled substances, and any product marketed as a legal substitute for one.
• Drug paraphernalia and equipment intended for the production or consumption of a controlled substance.
• Prescription products, including prescription medication, prescription-only medical devices, and offers to fill, resell, or transfer a prescription.
• Alcohol, including homemade and home-brewed alcohol. Collectible sealed containers may only be offered where the listing makes clear that the container is empty or is being sold as a collectible and the sale is lawful.
• Tobacco, nicotine, and vaping products, including cigarettes, cigars, chewing tobacco, e-cigarettes, vape devices, pods, and e-liquid, and any related paraphernalia.

Counterfeits and intellectual-property infringement

• Counterfeit, replica, knock-off, and unauthorized-branded items, including goods bearing a mark you are not authorized to use.
• Pirated, cracked, or unlicensed software, media, and streaming content, and devices, keys, or accounts sold to access them.
• Devices, software, or services designed to bypass a technical protection measure, including modchips, jailbreaking services, and unauthorized streaming boxes.
• Any content that infringes another party's copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, right of publicity, or other right. To report infringement of your own rights, see Copyright and intellectual property.

Adult content and human exploitation

• Adult content and sexually positioned products, including pornography, sexually explicit imagery, and products presented in a sexualized way.
• Sexual services of any kind, escort services, and any offer or solicitation of a commercial sexual act.
• Human exploitation, including human trafficking, forced or coerced labor, and the sale or transfer of a person.
• Any content that exploits, endangers, or sexualizes a minor. This is strictly prohibited, is removed on detection, results in immediate account termination, and is reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and to law enforcement as required by law.

Documents, currency, financial instruments, and accounts

• Government-issued and personal identification documents, including passports, driver's licenses, birth certificates, and Social Security cards, whether genuine, forged, or novelty.
• Counterfeit currency, and equipment or templates used to produce it.
• Financial instruments and account credentials, including credit-card and bank-account numbers, checks, money orders, and offers to exchange cryptocurrency for cash.
• Subscriptions, digital accounts, and account credentials, including streaming, gaming, retail loyalty, and social accounts, and any transfer of an account in violation of its provider's terms.
• Academic credentials, professional licenses, and other documents intended to misrepresent qualifications.

Fraud, deception, and financial schemes

• Fraudulent, misleading, and deceptive listings, including listings whose price, condition, availability, or seller is misrepresented, and bait-and-switch offers.
• Advance-fee schemes, pyramid and multi-level schemes, matrix schemes, chain messages, and referral or investment schemes.
• Gambling and games of chance, including lotteries, raffles, sweepstakes, betting services, and casino equipment where restricted.
• Phishing, credential harvesting, and any solicitation of a one-time passcode, verification code, or sign-in link.
• Listings whose primary purpose is to advertise an off-platform site, scheme, or payment method rather than to offer the item described.

Health, safety, and hazardous materials

• Medical and healthcare products, including medical devices, contact lenses, thermometers, first-aid and testing kits, and products making a medical, curative, or weight-loss claim.
• Body parts and bodily fluids, including human remains, organs, blood, plasma, ova, sperm, and breast milk.
• Hazardous goods and materials, including flammable, corrosive, radioactive, and toxic substances, asbestos, lead paint, pesticides, compressed gases, and loose or damaged lithium batteries.
• Recalled products, and products subject to an active safety recall or stop-sale notice.
• Used cosmetics and previously opened or unsealed personal-care products.
• Infant and child products that do not meet current safety standards, including drop-side cribs and recalled car seats.

Animals

• Live animals, including the sale, rehoming for a fee, trade, or giveaway of any live animal.
• Animal parts and products from protected, endangered, or regulated species, including ivory, and taxidermy where restricted.
• Animal fighting equipment, and any offer relating to an animal fighting venture.

Hate, harassment, violence, and discrimination

• Content that promotes or facilitates discrimination against a person or group on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, familial status, disability, age, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.
• Hate speech, hate symbols, and content that praises, supports, or represents a violent or hateful organization.
• Content that threatens, harasses, bullies, intimidates, stalks, or incites violence against any person or group.
• Misleading, violent, or hateful products, including items that glorify a mass-casualty event or its perpetrator.

Personal information and privacy

• Another person's private or personal information posted without their consent, including a home address, telephone number, email address, government identifier, financial information, or photograph.
• Databases, mailing lists, and scraped contact data offered for sale or exchange.
• Surveillance and interception equipment where its offer, sale, or intended use is unlawful.

Vehicles and vehicle parts

• Restricted vehicle parts, including airbags and airbag components, emissions-defeat devices and tampering software, license-plate flippers and obscuring covers, odometer-rollback tools, and radar jammers.
• Vehicles offered without lawful title or with a title or mileage that is misrepresented. A salvage, rebuilt, flood, or lemon-law title must be disclosed clearly in the listing.

Housing, jobs, and services

• Housing listings that state or imply a preference, limitation, or discrimination on the basis of a class protected by the federal Fair Housing Act (42 U.S.C. 3604(c)) or by applicable state or local law, including race, color, religion, national origin, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, familial status, disability, and, where protected, source of income. Property listings are screened for this and are held for human review rather than published when they appear to violate it.
• Job listings that state a discriminatory preference, that require an up-front payment from the applicant, that are unpaid where the law requires pay, or that are placed to harvest applicant data rather than to fill a real role.
• Services that require a license the provider does not hold, and services offered in a way that conceals who will perform them.

Spam, platform abuse, and empty posts

• Duplicate listings for the same item, bulk or automated posting, and repeated re-posting to move a listing up the feed.
• Listings that do not offer an actual product, service, job, or other permitted item, including news, commentary, humor, tests, and placeholders.
• Attempts to evade moderation, reports, or blocks, including re-listing removed content and creating additional accounts.
• Scraping, data harvesting, malware, and any interference with the operation of the Jinu service.

The following categories are restricted rather than prohibited outright. Jinu does not currently approve any sellers in them, so listings in these categories are held for human review and may be removed:

• Event tickets.
• Gift cards and vouchers.
• Pet-adoption matching services.

Whole vehicles and ordinary pet supplies are permitted, subject to the age restrictions below and to the vehicle rules in Section 02.

The minimum age to use Jinu is sixteen. A user who is sixteen or seventeen may use Jinu only with the involvement, permission, and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, who is responsible for that minor's activity.

The following higher-risk categories and features are restricted to users who are eighteen or older, as set out in the Eligibility section of the Terms of Service: motor vehicles; housing and real estate, for sale or for rent; jobs and employment; paid or professional services; and any payment, shipping, financial transaction, escrow, or contract feature.

Jinu screens listings automatically at the time of publication. The screen includes a blocked-keyword check that can reject a listing outright, a fair-housing check on property listings, a prohibited and restricted commerce-category check, a scam-pattern check, and an artificial-intelligence safety classifier. A listing that trips certain checks is held for human review rather than published, and a listing flagged during a paid checkout is held for review after payment rather than published immediately. Publishing fees are not refunded for a listing removed, held, or rejected under this policy.

Automated screening is imperfect and will not catch everything. Reports from members are a material part of enforcement. If you see a listing that violates this policy, report it from the listing itself or write to safety@jinu.app. Reporting and moderation explains what happens next, what enforcement actions are available, and how to appeal one.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Jinu after an update takes effect signifies your acceptance of the revised policy.
