Post a service
A service costs $5 to publish on the website, or $5.99 in the apps. One payment, listing live for 30 days, and 0% of whatever the customer pays you. Jinu is not in the middle of the job.
What belongs here
Work you do for somebody, rather than an object you hand over. The subcategories are Automotive, Beauty and Wellness, Cleaning, Computer and Tech, Event Services, Financial, Home Repair, Labor and Moving, Lawn and Garden, Legal, Lessons and Tutoring, Pet Care, Real Estate, Skilled Trade, Travel, Writing and Editing, and Other.
Two things that are not services. A position you are hiring for is a job, which is $20 on the website or $23.99 in the apps, and has its own fields. A physical product with a bit of installation thrown in is still goods, which is free.
Writing one that gets calls
- Photos are required. Show your work, not a stock image of a wrench. Before and after photographs of real jobs are the most persuasive thing on a service listing.
- Say what you charge, and how. A price is optional, and leaving it off costs you inquiries. Hourly, per job, per room, a call-out fee, a minimum: any of these is better than nothing. If it truly depends, give a range and say what moves it.
- Say where you work. The city and how far you travel. "Within 20 miles of Tampa" answers a question every reader has.
- Say what you do not do. Narrowing the listing is not lost business, it is fewer wasted calls.
- License and insurance. If you hold them, say so and name the license. It is the single strongest trust signal on a service listing.
Licensed trades
Advertising a service does not exempt you from needing whatever your state or city requires. Electrical, plumbing, HVAC, roofing, pest control, childcare, medical and legal work are licensed nearly everywhere, and the rules are local. Claiming a license you do not hold is a matter for your licensing board, not only for Jinu.
Paying the $5
Taken at the end of the composer: through the App Store or Google Play in the apps, by card on the website. The listing goes live once the payment settles. Leave the checkout unfinished and the listing sits in My listings marked Payment pending: it is not visible to anybody, it is not lost, and finishing the checkout publishes it.
Reputation
The customer has to be able to find you again, so keep one listing per service and renew it rather than deleting and reposting. Reviews are earned through confirmed deals, and they attach to your account rather than to a single listing, so they follow you.
