Confirm a purchase or a sale

Confirmation happens inside the conversation you had about the item. Open the thread in your Inbox and the prompt is at the bottom, above the message box. It only appears for the person whose turn it is, and only in the thread it belongs to.

If you bought something

When the seller marks the item sold to you, you see a panel headed Did you buy this? with the seller's name and the item, and the line Confirm to leave a review.

  • Choose Yes, I bought it to confirm. You then see Thanks. You can review each other once both have.
  • Choose No if you did not. That closes the deal out. Nobody reviews anybody, and the seller is not told you called it off in any way other than the deal closing.

Answer honestly. Confirming a purchase you did not make is how fake reviews get manufactured, and it is a violation of the Community Guidelines.

If you sold something

  1. Open the conversation with the buyer, or find the listing in My listings.
  2. Choose Mark as sold. Jinu offers you the people who messaged or made an offer on that listing, plus an option for sold elsewhere with no buyer to name.
  3. Pick the buyer. They get a notification asking them to confirm, and the deal sits pending until they do.

Marking sold does two other things at once: the listing leaves every for-sale feed, and anyone who liked it is told it sold.

If you accepted an offer instead, there is nothing to confirm. Accepting is your half of the handshake and the buyer's offer was theirs, so the deal is confirmed already and both of you can review straight away.

If you hosted a stay

The guest says I stayed here and you get the mirror-image prompt: Did they stay at your place? Confirming unlocks reviews for both of you.

Once both of you have confirmed

The panel changes to How was your deal? with a Review button naming the other person, and the line Your review stays hidden until they review you too. Rate them, write a comment if you want to, and submit. Yours appears when theirs does, or after 14 days if it never comes.

If the prompt is not there

  • You are in the wrong conversation. The prompt belongs to one thread and one item, and it will not show in another.
  • The seller marked it sold without naming you. There is no deal to confirm. Ask them to mark it sold to you.
  • You already answered. Confirming or declining is once and final.
  • You are signed out, or signed in on a different account from the one that had the conversation.
