Delete your account
Go to Settings, choose Delete account at the bottom of the menu, type your account email into the box, and choose Delete account. It happens immediately and it cannot be undone.
The steps
- Open /settings. On the web the delete option is the last item in the settings menu, styled in red.
- Read what will be removed. It is listed on the panel.
- Type the email address your account uses. The button stays disabled until it matches, which is deliberate: it stops an accidental double tap from destroying an account.
- Choose Delete account. You are signed out and returned to the home page.
Do these first if they apply
- Download your data. The same panel has "Download your data first", which exports your listings, messages and account information. After deletion there is nothing left to export.
- Settle anything outstanding. Close out conversations and mark sold items sold, so buyers are not left waiting on somebody who no longer exists.
Two gentler options on the same panel
- Pause account. Hides all your listings and stops notifications. Your account stays intact and you can unpause whenever you want. This is the right choice if you are taking a break rather than leaving.
- Delete all listings. Removes every listing, active, draft and sold, and keeps the account, your messages and your settings.
Things people get caught by
Deletion applies to one account. If you have signed in with Google and also with a different email address, those are two accounts and deleting one leaves the other running.
Uninstalling the app does not delete anything. Neither does letting your listings expire.
