I was threatened or harassed
If there is any threat to your safety, contact your local emergency services first. In the United States that is 911. Jinu cannot dispatch help and does not monitor reports around the clock.
Once you are safe: screenshot the messages, block the person, report them, and email safety@jinu.app with the details and any police report number.
Keep the evidence
Screenshot the conversation, the profile and the listing before you do anything else. Blocking on Jinu does not delete the conversation you already have, so your record stays where it is, but a screenshot is yours and does not depend on anybody's system.
Block them, which takes effect immediately
Open their profile, use the actions menu and choose Block. Blocking works in both directions at once: neither of you can message the other, make an offer, or follow the other, and their listings drop out of your feed. It does not wait for us to review anything and it does not need our permission.
Report them
On the profile, choose Report and pick Harassment. On a specific listing, use the more menu and Report. To report an individual message, open the conversation and report it there; that one needs you to be signed in, because only somebody in the conversation can see it.
The person you report is never told who reported them. We may tell them what was reported and why, but not by whom, except where the law requires it.
Then email us
Write to safety@jinu.app with the full jinu.app address of the profile, what was said, when, and the police report number if you have one. Threats to physical safety, content involving a minor and credible threats of violence are prioritized above every other report we hold, and we preserve the associated records so they are available to law enforcement on a valid legal request.
What we can do about it
Enforcement is proportionate to what happened, and the actions available include removing the content, holding or removing listings, warning the member, limiting their messaging or posting, suspending the account, terminating it, and referring the matter to law enforcement. Some things skip the graduated path entirely and end the account on the first occurrence, including credible threats of violence. Creating a new account after a termination is itself a violation and grounds for terminating every account involved.
If you think we got a decision about your own account wrong, the appeal route is in Moderation and enforcement.
