Someone is impersonating me or my business
Report the profile or the listing with the reason Impersonation, then email safety@jinu.app with a link to the impersonating page and something that shows the name or brand is yours. Evidence is what makes an impersonation report actionable, because from the outside two accounts claiming the same name look the same.
Report it in the product first
- A profile. Open it, use the actions menu, choose Report, then Impersonation.
- A listing. Open it, use the more menu, choose Report, and pick the closest reason.
Reporting is rate limited and anonymous reporters complete a bot check, so that reporting cannot itself be used to harass somebody.
Then send us the evidence
Email safety@jinu.app with:
- The full jinu.app address of the impersonating profile or listing.
- Exactly what is being copied: the name, the handle, the logo, the photographs, the business details.
- Something that shows it is yours. A business registration, a website on your own domain, a trademark registration, social accounts that predate the impersonation, or the original photographs with their originals or the account they were taken from.
- Your own Jinu profile address, if you have one, so we can see the genuine account beside the copy.
The more of that you attach in the first email, the faster it moves. A report with a link and no evidence usually has to come back to you for the evidence anyway.
If they are using your photographs or your logo
That is also a copyright or trademark complaint, and it goes through a separate procedure with legal effect. Follow Copyright and intellectual property and send it to legal@jinu.app rather than to safety. Note that an intellectual-property notice is forwarded in full to the person it is about, which is the one exception to reports being confidential, because the counter-notice procedure is set by statute.
If it is your own account that was taken over
That is a different problem from somebody copying you. Write to safety@jinu.app from the email address on the account, say what changed and when you last had access, and do not create a second account in the meantime.
What happens next
A person reviews it. We may remove the listings, remove the profile, limit the account or terminate it, and the person is not told who reported them. If they come back with a new account, tell us: evading enforcement is itself a violation and grounds for terminating every account involved. The full process is in Moderation and enforcement.
