Report a message
Open the conversation, use the three-dot menu at the top, and choose Report. It sends the other person's most recent message in that thread to Jinu's moderation team.
What happens when you tap it
- You are asked to confirm: "Report this conversation to Jinu? Our team will review it."
- The menu item then reads Reported, so you can tell it went through.
- A moderator receives the message, who sent it and who reported it.
There is no reason picker in this menu, so a reported conversation arrives unlabeled and a human triages it. You do not need to pick the perfect category, and reporting a conversation does not accuse anyone of a specific offense.
Reporting the listing instead, with a reason
If the problem is the listing rather than the person, use the listing's more menu and choose Report listing. There you pick from a fixed list of five: Spam or scam, Prohibited item, Wrong category, Already sold, or Other. Reporting a seller works the same way from their profile, but the reasons offered are a different set: Spam or scam, Harassment, Impersonation, Counterfeit or fake, Offensive content, or Other. Report the object the problem belongs to, because that is what decides which list you get.
Reporting is never one tap. That is deliberate: a one-tap report is a weapon.
What happens next
- A moderator reviews it. When a moderator actions a report, the person who reported it may get an email about the outcome. You will not get a running commentary, and you will not be told what happened to another person's account.
- Listings that several different people report are hidden automatically pending review.
- Some scam patterns are caught before you report anything: Jinu scans messages, warns the sender on the risky ones, refuses the worst outright, and files the rest into the same queue.
Also do this
- Block them, from the same menu. Reporting alone does not stop them messaging you.
- Keep the evidence. Do not delete the thread, and screenshot anything that matters.
- For anything urgent, including a threat or an active scam with money involved, email safety@jinu.app and contact your local police. I think I have been scammed has the step-by-step for recovering after a scam.
