Turn your public profile off

The setting is Public seller profile, in Settings under Marketplace, Buying and selling. Turning it off hides your listings from your profile page, from browse and from search. It does not delete the page and it does not make your listings unreachable, which is the part people get wrong.

Exactly what changes

With it off, a visitor to your profile sees:

• Your avatar, display name, handle and bio, as before. The page still loads.
• A padlock and the line This seller keeps their listings private where your grid was.
• No count on the Listings tab.
• No sold, followers or following numbers.
• No activity status, so your last-active time is not exposed.
• No follower list, even by the direct route.

Elsewhere on Jinu, your listings drop out of browse, search, the home feeds and the city pages, and your profile is excluded from the sitemap and marked so search engines do not index it.

You still see your own grid, with the line Only you can see these, your profile is set to private above it.

The important limitation

Anybody with a direct link to a listing can still open it. The listing pages themselves stay live: this setting controls discovery, not access. If you have shared a listing link, or it was indexed before you turned the setting off, that link keeps working.

If you want a listing genuinely gone, pause it or delete it from My listings. That is the control for access. This one is the control for being found.

What it does not affect

• Conversations already open. Messaging works normally.
• Your ability to post, renew or boost.
• Reviews already published about you.
• Your notifications.

When to use it, and what to use instead

• Taking a break from selling: this is the right setting. Turn it back on and everything reappears, with no republishing.
• Avoiding one specific person: block them instead. That hides you from them and them from you, without hiding you from every buyer. See Block a user.
• Not wanting to be findable by name: there is a separate Searchable profile toggle in Settings under Privacy and trust.
• Leaving Jinu: deleting your account is in Settings, at the bottom of the list, and it is not the same thing as this.
