Choose which emails Jinu sends
Open Settings, then Notifications under Marketplace. Six kinds of notification each have their own Email switch, and they are all on until you turn them off.
The six switches
Under "How we reach you", each row has two switches, Email and Push, and they are independent. Turning email off does not turn push off, and the other way round.
- New messages. When somebody replies about a listing.
- Offers received. When a buyer makes an offer.
- Search alerts. When new listings match a search you saved.
- Liked item alerts. When something you saved drops in price.
- People you follow. When somebody you follow posts.
- Listing expiry warnings. Three days before one of your listings expires.
Below them is Activity digest, a periodic recap of your views and messages plus new posts from people you follow. It is email only, so it has one switch.
There is no single off switch
This is the thing worth knowing before you go looking for one. Quiet hours, further down the same screen, is not it: Do not disturb mutes push notifications during the window you set, and email still goes through. You set the start and end times underneath it.
To stop email, turn the Email switch off on each of the six rows, and turn off the Activity digest. That is six taps and one more, and it is deliberate: it means turning off search alerts cannot silently also turn off a buyer telling you they are outside.
What these switches do not cover
Email you get because of something you did is not a marketing preference and is not covered here. That includes a sign-in link, a confirmation that a listing went live, a payment receipt, a manage link you asked to be resent, and notices about your account or about safety. If you do not want those, the answer is to stop using the account rather than to switch them off.
Unsubscribing from the email itself
Search alert, price drop and digest emails each carry their own unsubscribe link at the bottom, and support the one-click unsubscribe button that Gmail and Apple Mail put at the top of a message. Using either turns that stream off without you having to find Settings.
A related setting that is not this
Under Privacy there is Activity-based emails. That controls whether the content inside an email is personalized from what you have viewed or liked. It does not control whether the email is sent. Turning it off makes the emails more generic, not fewer.
