Make an offer
Open the listing and use Make an offer. Offers are welcome on most items. The exception is a firm price, which will not take one: usually because the seller chose Firm when posting, and always on a stay, which is published firm because it books on the host's own site.
What you need
A free Jinu account, because an offer arrives in the seller's inbox as a message and needs somewhere for their reply to go. Browsing needs no account; offering and messaging do.
The rules the form enforces
- At least $1, in whole dollars. A zero-dollar offer is refused, because accepting one would mark an item sold for nothing.
- One live offer at a time per listing. Sending a new one replaces your previous pending offer rather than stacking a second, so it is safe to revise your number.
- The item has to be available. A listing already reserved for another buyer, already sold, paused or expired will not take an offer.
- Not your own listing. You cannot offer on something you posted.
Firm prices
Some listings say Firm. Sending an offer on one returns "This listing's price is firm." Message the seller instead if you have a genuine question about the item, but take the price at face value.
Getting a reply
A bare number is the kind of message sellers skip. Say when you can collect, say that you can pay in cash on the spot, and if you are offering well under the asking price, say why in one line: a fault you can see in the photos, a part you will have to replace. Sellers answer specific offers.
