Offer a trade or a swap
An offer can be cash, an item you are putting up in trade, or a trade with cash on top. Trades only work on listings where the seller switched on Open to trades, and you will see that on the listing.
Sending a trade offer
- Open the listing and start an offer.
- Switch from Cash offer to Trade.
- Name what you are offering, in up to 80 characters. "Trek hybrid bike, 2019" tells the seller something. "Various items" does not.
- Add a photo of your item if you have one, and an estimated value if you want to give the seller a reference point. Both are optional.
- Add cash on top if you are offering a trade plus money.
- Send trade offer.
The photo has to be uploaded through Jinu
Pick your photo in the offer form so it uploads to Jinu. A link to an image hosted somewhere else is refused, because that image would render inside the seller's inbox and Jinu will not load a stranger's file there.
If the option is not there
The seller did not turn trades on, and sending one anyway returns "This listing is not open to trades." Send a cash offer, or message the seller and ask whether they would consider a swap. If they would, they can turn the option on by editing their listing.
For sellers
Open to trades / swaps is a switch in the post form, described there as letting buyers offer an item instead of cash. You can turn it on or off later by editing the listing, and turning it off stops new trade offers arriving.
