The sign-in email did not arrive
Check your spam or junk folder first, because that is where it is most of the time. Search your whole mailbox for jinu.app rather than for a subject line, since the search then finds it wherever your mail app filed it.
Work through these in order
- Search for jinu.app. Search everything, not only the inbox. Gmail's Promotions and Updates tabs, Outlook's Other inbox and Apple Mail's junk all hide mail without marking it as missing.
- Re-read the address you typed. A typo in the domain sends the email to somebody else's mailbox and no error comes back to you. Jinu does not confirm or deny whether an address is registered, which protects members from having their addresses probed, and it also means a typo looks exactly like a successful send.
- Give it a minute, then ask again. There is a short cooldown between sends. If you asked twice inside it, the second request was refused with "Please wait a few seconds before requesting another link" and no second email exists.
- Use the 6-digit code. The same email carries both a link and a code. If the link is being rewritten or blocked by a corporate mail scanner, typing the code into the sign-in card works instead.
- Check that the address is a real, permanent one. Temporary and disposable mailbox services are refused at the point of request with "Please use a permanent email address", so no email was ever sent to one.
If your mail is filtered by an employer or a school
Ask whoever runs it to allow mail from jinu.app, or sign up with a personal address instead. Some filters quarantine automated sign-in mail without leaving anything in your spam folder, so there is nothing on your side to find.
Still nothing
Email hello@jinu.app from the address you are trying to use, and say roughly when you asked for the link. Sending from the address is what lets us match your request to what happened. Jinu's own email comes from hello@jinu.app, so allowing that address helps future mail through too.
