Live animals are prohibited
You cannot sell, trade, rehome for a fee, or give away a live animal on Jinu. The category is Pet Supplies, and it is for the things a pet needs, not for the pet.
What is welcome
Food, bowls, collars, leads and harnesses, beds and crates, carriers, toys, grooming kit, tanks and aquariums, cages and hutches, litter trays, and second-hand pet gear in good condition. That is what the Pet Supplies category exists for.
Several of its subcategories are named after animals: Dogs, Cats, Birds, Fish & Aquariums, Small Animals, Reptiles & Amphibians, Horses & Livestock and Other Pets. Those pick which animal the gear is for. None of them is a place to list the animal.
What is not
- Any live animal, whatever the wording. A sale, a swap, a rehoming fee, an adoption fee, and free to a good home are all the same thing to this rule.
- Breeder advertising, litters, and stud services.
- Exotic and wild animals.
- Animal parts from protected, endangered or regulated species, including ivory, and restricted taxidermy.
- Anything connected to animal fighting.
Pet-adoption matching services are in the restricted group rather than the prohibited one, which means they are held for review rather than allowed. Jinu approves no sellers in that category today.
Why the fee makes no difference
A rehoming fee is the standard way animal listings are dressed up, and it is exactly the wording that scams and unlicensed breeders use, so the screener treats phrases like rehoming fee, adoption fee, litter available and stud service as a reason to hold a listing. If the words are in your listing, expect it to be stopped even where the item is genuinely a crate.
If you need to rehome an animal
Go to a local shelter or a breed-specific rescue. They screen the people taking the animal, which is the part Jinu cannot do and the reason this rule exists.
Reporting one
Open the listing, use the more menu, choose Report, and pick Prohibited item. If an animal looks to be in danger, contact your local animal control or the police as well. Jinu can take a listing down; it cannot reach the animal.
