Restricted: gift cards, event tickets and pet adoption services

These three are not banned outright. They are held for a person to review before they can be published, and because Jinu approves no sellers in these categories today, a listing in one of them is likely to be removed rather than released.

• Gift cards and vouchers, including store credit and e-gift codes.
• Event tickets, including concerts, sports, festivals and theater.
• Pet-adoption matching services.

Why they are treated this way

All three are among the most common instruments of fraud on a marketplace, and they share a shape: the buyer cannot verify what they are getting until after the money is gone. A gift card balance can be spent by the seller between your payment and your first use of it. A ticket barcode can be sold to four people at once and only works for the first through the gate. An adoption listing can collect a fee for an animal that does not exist. Because Jinu holds no money and offers no escrow, there is nothing to reverse when it happens.

What restricted means for your listing

The listing is not published while it waits. It is not visible in browse or search, and it sits in My listings with its status showing that it is being reviewed. A person can release it, and a person can remove it. If the category was paid, the publishing fee is not returned when a listing is held or removed.

Buying one anyway

If you find a listing in one of these categories, treat it as high risk regardless of how the seller sounds. Never pay in advance, never pay by a method you cannot reverse, and for a ticket, insist on a transfer through the official ticketing platform rather than a screenshot or a photograph of a barcode.
