Star ratings on seller cards
The star and the number next to a listing's price appear only when that seller has real published reviews. A seller with none shows nothing there. Jinu does not render a placeholder, a zero, a "New seller" star or five grayed-out stars.
How to read it
A chip reading 4.9 with (6) after it means an average of 4.9 across 6 published reviews. The average is one decimal place, and the count in brackets is how many reviews it is built from. Both matter: 5.0 from one review and 4.7 from forty are not the same claim, and the count is there so you can tell them apart.
Which reviews count
Only published reviews tied to a confirmed deal, and only reviews of the seller. Reviews still held unpublished under the double-blind rule are not counted, so a rating never moves because somebody wrote something you cannot see yet. Buyer reviews left by a seller do not affect a seller's own star.
Why an absent star is not a bad sign
It means the account has not completed a reviewable deal yet. Everybody starts there. Judge a seller with no rating the way you would judge anyone you have not met: read the listing, ask a question, meet somewhere public, pay in a way you can undo. That is good practice with a five-star seller too.
If a seller's rating is missing where you expected one
Open their profile, which lists their reviews in full. A card can hide the chip while a page is loading, and the profile is the authoritative view. If a seller you know has reviews shows no rating anywhere, tell us at hello@jinu.app.
