Why Jinu is unavailable in some countries
Jinu is operated from the United States and has to comply with US Treasury sanctions regulations administered by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (31 CFR Chapter V). Providing the service to people in comprehensively sanctioned jurisdictions is prohibited, so visitors there are blocked.
Which countries are blocked
Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Russia and Belarus. That is the whole list, and it reflects the comprehensive sanctions programs only.
Nothing else is blocked. The European Union, the United Kingdom, Canada, Mexico and every other country can reach Jinu normally. There is no block on the EU or the UK for privacy reasons.
What a blocked visitor still sees
An interstitial page rather than a dead connection, and these stay reachable from it:
- The Privacy Policy, so a data-subject request can still be made. Send it to privacy@jinu.app.
- The Terms of Service, the Community Guidelines, the Prohibited and restricted items policy and the Reporting and moderation page.
- This help center, including every article in it and the whole Safety center category.
- Contact Jinu, Cookies, Copyright and intellectual property, and the account-deletion instructions.
Regional embargoes
Some sanctions apply to regions rather than whole countries, including Crimea and the Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions of Ukraine. The block runs on country, so Ukraine as a whole is not blocked and those regional embargoes are not enforced at this layer. That is a limitation of country-level detection, not a decision about the regions.
If you think you are blocked by mistake
It happens: the check reads the country your connection appears to come from, and a VPN, a corporate network or a traveling SIM can misreport it. Turn off any VPN and reload first. If it persists, email hello@jinu.app and say where you actually are and what network you are on.
