Workplace and employment types

Workplace type says where the work happens: On-site, Remote or Hybrid. Employment type says what the arrangement is: Full-time, Part-time, Contract, Internship or Temporary. Both are required, and both are filters candidates use.

Choosing a workplace type

• On-site. The work happens at your location. Most trades, retail, hospitality, warehouse and care roles.
• Remote. The person does not come in. A city is still required, because Jinu's feed is local. Say in the description whether it is open to the whole country or only to people near you, since candidates read "remote" both ways.
• Hybrid. Some days in, some days out. Put the actual pattern in the description, for example three days on site, because hybrid on its own tells a candidate almost nothing.

Choosing an employment type

• Full-time and Part-time for ordinary employment. If part-time, give the hours a week in the description.
• Contract for a fixed engagement or a contractor arrangement. Say the length and whether it can extend.
• Internship, where you should be clear about pay. In the United States unpaid internships are constrained by law, and an unpaid post that reads like a job is the kind of thing that gets reported.
• Temporary for seasonal and short-term work. Give the dates.

Shift and pay

Shift is optional: days, evenings, nights, weekends or flexible. For anything outside office hours it is worth setting, because it is the first thing a candidate with other commitments checks.

Pay is also optional, entered as a minimum and a maximum, per hour or per year. Leaving it out has a concrete cost: the pay filter matches only posts that state a range, so your post is not returned at all to a candidate filtering by pay.

Getting the pair right matters

These two fields are how candidates cut the list down, so a mismatch does more harm than a plain description. A Remote post that turns out to need someone in the office three days wastes everyone's time and earns a Wrong category report. Set them to the truth, and use the description for the nuance.
