Boosting from the iOS and Android apps

The iPhone and Android apps sell the three fixed tiers: Bump for 1 day, Boost for 3 days, and Spotlight for 7 days. In the apps they cost $1.29, $3.99 and $5.99. The same tiers are $1, $3 and $5 on the website, because in the apps the app store's commission comes out of what you pay. The custom amount from $6 to $50 is on the website only.

What is identical everywhere

  • The three tiers and their day counts.
  • What a boost does: placement at the front of the feed and a slot in Featured near you, with a Promoted label.
  • Days adding to the end of a promotion that is already running.
  • 0% on your local cash sale. Promotion is the only thing being paid for.

What differs

  • The price. A tier costs more in the apps than on the website: $1.29, $3.99 and $5.99 against $1, $3 and $5. The promotion you get is the same either way, and so are the days.
  • The custom amount. Website only.
  • How the payment is taken. In the apps a boost is an in-app purchase billed by Apple or Google. On the website it is a card checkout. Either way the promotion is applied to the listing after the payment is confirmed.

A boost bought in one place applies everywhere

Listings and boosts belong to your account, not to a device. Buy a Spotlight in the iPhone app and the listing is promoted on the website and on Android too, and the days remaining read the same in all three.

If you want a longer run than Spotlight

Buy another tier when the first one ends. Boosts stack end to end on the same listing, so a second Spotlight picks up where the first one stopped.
