What a Boost does, and what it does not
A Boost buys placement and nothing else. A boosted listing sorts to the front of the browse feed and appears in Featured near you, and it carries a visible Promoted label the whole time. That is the entire product.
What you are buying
- Position. Your listing leads the feed for people browsing the same category, city and price range they were already looking at.
- A slot in Featured near you, the promoted row on the home page.
- A duration. One day, three days, seven days, or the length a custom amount buys.
What you are not buying
- Reach or impressions. Jinu does not sell a number of views and does not show an estimate of one. Nobody can honestly promise a stranger will scroll.
- A different audience. A boost never puts your listing in front of somebody who filtered it out. If a buyer is searching a different city, category or price band, a boost does not reach them. Placement is applied inside the search they actually ran.
- Anonymity. The Promoted label is not optional, and it does not fade after a while.
- A lower fee on the sale. There is no fee on the sale. Local cash sales are 0% forever, boosted or not.
Promoted listings are spread out, not stacked
Boosted listings never pile up at the top of a page. One leads, and the rest are dealt across the page so that no two promoted cards sit closer than one in every three. A feed that opens with five paid cards reads as an advertising break, and it buries the organic listings that the placement is supposed to sit among.
Is a boost worth it
It moves your listing up. It does not fix a listing that is not working. If the photos are dark, the description is one line, or the price is above what the same item is selling for nearby, a boost buys that listing a better position and it still will not sell. Fix those first; they are free.
