Bump a listing to the top for free

The free bump moves an active listing back to the top of the feed, once every seven days per listing, at no cost. It is not the paid Boost, and it does not put a Promoted label on your listing.

How to bump

Open My listings and use Bump on the listing's card. The listing keeps its expiry date and everything else about it stays the same. What changes is its posted date, and the posted date is what the feeds sort on, so the listing goes back to the top of browse for its category and city.

The seven days

The cooldown starts from your last bump, not from when you posted. A listing you have never bumped can be bumped straight away, however new it is. If the cooldown is still running, Jinu tells you how many days are left rather than quietly doing nothing.

What a bump will not do

• It does not extend the listing. Your 30 days end on the same date they were always going to end on, so a bump on day 25 buys you five days at the top, not a new term. Renewing is the separate action that moves the expiry date.
• It only works on a live listing. A paused, expired or unpaid listing cannot be bumped. Bring it back first.
• It does not add a badge. Nobody browsing can tell a bumped listing from a freshly posted one, which is the point.

Bump the free action, Bump the paid tier

Two things share the name and it causes real confusion. The free bump above costs nothing and gives you one move to the top a week. Boost is the paid promotion, and its cheapest tier is also called Bump: 1 day, then 3 days as Boost and 7 days as Spotlight, plus a custom amount from $6 to $50 on the website only. Those cost $1, $3 and $5 on the website and $1.29, $3.99 and $5.99 in the apps. A boosted listing sorts first, appears in Featured near you, and carries a visible Promoted label for as long as it runs. Boost is placement only. It does not change what you keep from a sale, which is always all of it on a local cash deal.
