Drop your price and notify watchers
Lowering the price on a listing shows the old price struck through with the percentage off, and a drop of 10 percent or more also alerts the people who liked the item.
How to do it
Edit the listing and save a lower number in the price field. There is no separate discount tool and nothing else to switch on.
What buyers see
The card and the listing page show the previous price struck through next to the new one, with the percentage saved. The listing also becomes eligible for the Today's deals row on the home page, which collects listings that are still live, still available, and whose price came down in the last 30 days, biggest saving first. Raising the price again clears the struck-through price, so an item that is not really discounted never shows as one.
Who gets told
A drop of 10 percent or more sends an alert to everyone who liked your listing, by push and email depending on the notification settings each of them chose. A smaller trim still updates the price and the struck-through display, but it does not send anything, which stops a series of one dollar reductions turning into a series of notifications.
There is a 12-hour gap enforced per listing, so cutting the price twice in an afternoon alerts them once. You are never alerted about your own listing.
If nothing seems to have happened
Nobody is notified if nobody had liked the item, and people who turned off liked-item alerts in Settings do not receive them. A price is optional on a Jinu listing, so a listing posted without one has nothing to drop from and shows no comparison until you set a price and then lower it.
